New ideas always keep on emerging from the new generations. This time it is the innovative culture of naming the kids with abbreviated versions of traditional Christian names. This no fun, but seriously these names are put on the children’s birth certificates these are the names with “original” ways of spelling them. For some it is absurd, but for me it is just great and really needs to be appreciated. After all, it’s the purpose of naming the Generation X. the changes are really very interesting. Anne, Connor and Laura are changed to An, Conna and to Lora respectively. It not only looks trendy but is novel in its own way. These names are easy to remember and are very convenient too. They look the way they get sound. The online parenting club Bounty makes the declaration that not only this there are lots of borrowings are done from the corporate entities. Names like Flicity, Ikea, Paprica, Caramel, Bambi, Fire-Lily, Skylark and TAME (The Apple of My Eye), are something really that every new parent would prefer to have. The names like TAME (The Apple of My Eye), gives room to you to personalise the name of your kid according to the way you exactly wants it to be. It is an absolutely new way to make the bond more sweet and creative.

No doubt that there are diversities to these practices. According to Albert Mehrabian is a psychology professor at the University of California “less attractive characteristics were attributed to individuals with less conventionally spelled names. Unconventional spelling connoted less masculinity for men and less femininity for women [and] more anxiety and neuroticism were attributed to those with less common names.” Even last year a couple was restricted to name their kids as 4Real.
These are mere initial obstacles. To see the big picture, parents always want their kids to be named in a different way and this practice is really going to get rock. As this tend makes you independent enough to tie the bond closure to your kid.

Hey, don’t we use such abbreviated language in text messaging just because we have to type too much in a short time?

Do we ever use such lingo when writing an essay or some other important literary work??

Now, its up to the people - those who consider their child as petty text messages can adopt this, while those who think otherwise can act otherwise.

And, for the ones who are happy with the shrinking game, I suggest the next step - numerals!

1, what are you doing? see what 2’s upto, tell him -1 is going with -2 today!!

you are right ’...abbreviated language in text messaging just because we have to type too much in a short..’
However it is also used when you have to say lots in a limited space and it is understanble especially between those who have got better and more communication.
in a way these are used between people who understand each other more and need not have to express a lot in words.
so i feel this way of naming a kid means that your kid can feel more about what you mean even in short forms.
so i feel its aptly appropriate.

Hey Aparajita, did you notice the fun? I call for truce and my comment gets negative rating!!

Strange isn’t it? Lol, but no problems with me - it seems the one who got pissed up with my comment wants me to take a different stance.

I hope you won’t mind and enjoy the episode :)

And God bless the soul for rating my comment ;), negative ratings mean a lot to me - people take their time out specially for this. Wow, I’m tracked so religiously!

Aneez and Aparijita ! That debate was real interesting one and it was great to see the fight for one upmanship among INSTABLOGGERS. This sort of healthy debate among the members will definately go a long way to increase the authencity and credibility of those who write for instablogs. For that will definately vouch the notion that insbloogers have merit in thier WORDS! Kudos 2 U both!
